Rust remover, 250 ml
NANOPROTECH Rust remover is a non-drip gel based on a blend of mineral acids for removing rust, scale and mineral deposits from metal. It dissolves corrosion products on steel, copper, brass, bronze and tinplate; after 15–30 minutes they are rinsed off with water, leaving clean metal. The gel stays put on sloping surfaces and prepares the surface for painting.
The 250 ml pack suits tools, metal parts and individual areas of bodywork.

How the gel works
- Dissolves rust: the corrosion products rinse off with water, leaving clean metal.

Questions and answers
How do I apply the gel correctly?
Remove any thick, loose rust with a wire brush, shake the container thoroughly and apply the gel with a brush or roller about 2 mm thick. After 15–30 minutes wipe off the residue with a cloth, rinse with water and wipe dry; deep, long-standing rust is treated 2–3 times. Wear rubber gloves, a respirator and goggles.
Why does the gel look runny?
Without thorough shaking it can seem watery. The product is a gel, so always shake the container well before use.
How many treatments does old rust need?
Usually 2–3. Deep corrosion does not dissolve instantly: each application needs 15–30 minutes, after which the residue is rinsed off and the treatment repeated if necessary.
What is the difference between a rust remover and a rust converter?
A remover dissolves rust, which is rinsed off with water to leave clean metal. A converter chemically turns the rust that remains after the remover into a primer for painting. In short: the remover goes first, and the converter treats only the rust left after it.
How do I stop rust coming back after removal?
Protect the metal as soon as it is dry — bare metal quickly oxidises again. Before painting, treat the surface with a solvent and apply paint; if it will not be painted, cover it with Rust protection spray. Treat any remaining rust with Rust converter first.

Recommendation for use
1. Wear personal protective equipment: rubber gloves, a respirator and safety goggles.
2. Work outdoors or in a ventilated room at +5 °C to +35 °C.
3. Remove any thick, loose layer of rust and oxides from the metal with a wire brush.
4. Be sure to shake the container before use, then apply the gel evenly with a brush or roller in a 2 mm layer.
5. Leave for 15–30 minutes, depending on the severity of the corrosion.
6. Remove the remaining gel with a rag, rinse with plenty of water and wipe dry.
7. Repeat the treatment if the corrosion is severe.
8. Before painting, wipe the surface with a solvent.

Service and shelf life
Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture in sealed packaging. The date of manufacture is shown on the packaging. Store in a closed container in a dry, dark place at −5 °C to +45 °C. Dispose of as household waste.
