Rust remover, 40 ml
NANOPROTECH Rust remover is a non-drip gel based on a blend of mineral acids for removing rust, scale and mineral deposits from metal. It dissolves corrosion products on steel, copper, brass, bronze and tinplate; after 15–30 minutes they are rinsed off with water, leaving clean metal. The gel stays put on sloping surfaces and prepares the surface for painting.
The 40 ml pack is for spot treatment of small parts, fasteners and tools.
Where to use the rust remover gel
- Car bodies and special machinery parts — rust removal before painting.
- Tools and metal parts.
- Fences and metal structures.
- Copper, brass and bronze items — to restore the original look of the metal.
- As a scale remover for metal surfaces with scale and mineral deposits.
How the gel works
- Dissolves rust: the corrosion products rinse off with water, leaving clean metal.
- Gel consistency: easy to apply on sloping surfaces without running.
- Applied with a brush or roller in a layer of about 2 mm; leave for 15 to 30 minutes depending on the extent of corrosion.
- Deep, long-standing corrosion is treated 2–3 times.
- Restores the original appearance of metal and extends the service life of the item.

Questions and answers
How do I apply the gel correctly?
Remove any thick, loose rust with a wire brush, shake the container thoroughly and apply the gel with a brush or roller about 2 mm thick. After 15–30 minutes wipe off the residue with a cloth, rinse with water and wipe dry. Wear rubber gloves, a respirator and goggles.
Why does the gel look runny?
Without thorough shaking it can seem watery. The product is a gel, so always shake the container well before use.
How many treatments does old rust need?
Usually 2–3. Deep corrosion does not dissolve instantly: each application needs 15–30 minutes, after which the residue is rinsed off and the treatment repeated if necessary.
What is the difference between a rust remover and a rust converter?
A remover dissolves rust, which is rinsed off with water to leave clean metal. A converter chemically turns residual rust into a primer for painting. In short: a remover takes rust off, a converter prepares rusty metal for paint.
How do I stop rust coming back after removal?
Protect the metal as soon as it is dry — bare metal quickly oxidises again. Before painting, treat the surface with a solvent and apply paint; if it will not be painted, cover it with Rust protection spray or treat it with Rust converter.
Used together with
- Rust converter — turns residual rust into a primer for painting
- Rust protection spray — protects cleaned metal that will not be painted
Recommendation for use
1. Perform treatment using personal protective equipment: rubber gloves, respirator, goggles.
2. Perform the works in fresh air or in a ventilated room at the temperature from + 5°C to + 35°C.
3. If there is a thick, loose layer of rust and oxides on the metal, remove them with a brush cord.
4. MAKE SURE to shake the can before use and apply to the treated site using a brush or a paint roller in a 2 mm layer.
5. Hold from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the damage severity;
6. Remove the remaining gel with a cloth, rinse with a plenty of water, wipe dry.
7. In case of severe corrosion damage, repeat the treatment, if required.
8. Treat the surface with solvent before lacquer application.
