Threadlocker medium strength, 6 ml
NANOPROTECH Medium-strength threadlocker is a blue thread-locking compound for metal threaded joints up to M20 that need adjusting or taking apart from time to time. It cures inside the thread without air, stops nuts and bolts from working loose, seals the joint and protects it from corrosion. It fixes in 20 minutes and reaches final strength after 24 hours, yet the joint can still be undone with ordinary tools.
The 6 ml pack is a compact size for home and professional repairs; store it in a dry, dark place at no more than +35 °C.
Where to use a removable threadlocker
- Nuts and bolts that are adjusted or removed from time to time for servicing.
- Threaded joints in car repairs. Brakes, hubs, wheel fasteners, steering and engine parts — only where the vehicle manufacturer's instructions specify a threadlocker; it is not used to seal brake, gas equipment or air-conditioning lines.
- Metal threaded joints in plumbing, heating and water supply systems.
- Fasteners in electrical appliances, sports equipment, garden machinery and tools.
- Threaded fittings and flange connections.
How the threadlocker locks and seals
- Cures without air in thread gaps of up to 0.4 mm, which makes it an anaerobic threadlocker.
- Fixes in 20 minutes, cures within 2 hours and reaches final strength after 24 hours at 18 °C or above.
- Makes the threaded joint resistant to vibration.
- Works as a thread sealant and prevents corrosion.
- Medium locking strength: breakaway torque of no more than 17 N·m.
Suitable for
Metal threads with a diameter of up to M20 on cars, garden machinery and tools, stationary installations, plumbing and electrical appliances. It is not suitable for plastic, and fasteners that get hotter than +150 °C, such as on the exhaust manifold, are not secured with it.

Questions and answers
Can a bolt secured with blue threadlocker be undone?
Yes. It is a removable medium-strength grade: breakaway torque is no more than 17 N·m, so the joint comes apart with ordinary tools. If the thread is larger than M20 or you cannot apply much force, heat the joint to 150–200 °C with a heat gun or blowlamp first — but not near plastic, wiring, the battery or the fuel system.
What is the difference between blue and red threadlocker?
Blue is medium strength and removable: it stops the thread working loose but comes apart with ordinary tools. Red is high strength and permanent: it is used on joints taken apart only during a major overhaul and has to be heated to 150–200 °C with a heat gun before it can be undone. Choose blue for anything you will need to adjust.
How long does the threadlocker take to cure?
20 minutes to fix and 24 hours to reach final strength. It does not dry in air: it cures inside the thread, where air cannot reach, within 2 hours, and needs a temperature of at least 18 °C to reach final strength.
How do I apply it?
Clean rust, dirt and oil off the thread, degrease with acetone or petrol and let it dry. Apply the threadlocker, run the nut up and down to spread it over the whole thread profile, then tighten. Apply at +10 °C to +45 °C.
Is it suitable for plumbing?
Yes. It seals metal threaded joints in plumbing, heating and water supply systems and prevents thread corrosion. It cures in gaps of up to 0.4 mm, and the joint remains removable.
Used together with
- High-strength threadlocker — red, permanent grade for joints taken apart only during a major overhaul
- Rust remover — for cleaning rust off threads before applying the threadlocker
What it helps with
Recommendation for use
1. Apply at +10 °C to +45 °C. The compound cures without air in gaps of up to 0.4 mm between any surfaces.
2. Clean rust, dirt and oil off the thread, degrease with acetone or petrol and let dry.
3. Apply the compound and spread it over the entire thread profile by running the nut up and down over the treated area. Tighten.
4. Curing takes 2 hours. The compound reaches final strength after 24 hours at +18 °C or above.
5. To dismantle joints with a thread diameter over M20, or when high unscrewing force cannot be applied, heat the joint to 150–200 °C with a heat gun or blowtorch and then undo it.
Composition
Ethylene glycol methacrylate maleate up to 50%, octyl acrylate 5%, propylene glycol methacrylate oxychloride up to 10%, thickener up to 10%, polymerisation initiators up to 5%, stabilisers up to 1%, dyes.
